Shirley was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer on July 4, 2016 after suffering from vague symptoms since March. This page will keep everyone updated as she progresses thru treatment. Shirley is ready to fight and we appreciate any prayers on her behalf!
Prior to beginning this site Shirley had been hospitalized 3 times. During her first hospital stay she was diagnosed with what was thought to be pneumonia and had fluid from around her lungs drained. On her 2nd hospitalization the doctors discovered a 7cm ovarian tumor and drained 4 liters of fluid from her abdomen. It was this stay when Shirley was diagnosed with cancer. The 3rd hospital stay was because of low electrolytes due to the persistent vomiting that has plagued Shirley since June.
Her treatment plan will include 3 rounds of chemotherapy then surgery followed by 3 more rounds of chemotherapy.
