On June 17 my neck felt a little sore and I could feel a lump on the left side. I went to my chiropractor like I do on a regular basis. He said I needed to see an MD. I got in the van and called immediately hoping to get this thing taken care of quickly . Little did I know, I scheduled the first of many doctors appointments this summer. After an ultrasound, CT scans, biopsy/surgery on my neck, consults with oncologists in the twin cities and at Mayo in Rochester, it was determined that I have Diffused large cell B Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma on July 22. Then I needed to have routine tests done to prepare for Chemotherapy, which is the best way to fight this type of cancer. Lynn and I decided to have my treatment and care at Mayo. The first treatment will start August 13 and I will have another treatment in 3 weeks. The doctors say that 90%+ this chemo will take care of the cancer. The scans revealed that I have cancer cells in my neck and maybe a spot on my upper chest. Therefore I am at Stage 1 or possibly 2. Early on the soreness in my neck went away and I have been feeling just like my normal self. So our family begins a new journey. This is a race I would rather not run. But God is good! And he will be with us through it all. Please pray for us!
