Support for Sheena:

Hi, thanks for visiting my site.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 32 on July 19th. One day while sitting on my computer I had reached up and felt a slight "oddness" in my left breast. After further examination it looked like  there was a small indentation when I'd move a certain way, and after recalling an internet meme stating this sort of thing could indicate breast cancer, I immediately made an appointment with my doctor. Turns out that my concern was valid.

As of August 6th my cancer is considered stage-2B invasive ductal carcinoma -- meaning the cancer had formed within one of the ducts of my breast and spread outside into the breast tissue then traveled to the lymph nodes in my underarm where it appears to have NOT progressed any further (as far as imaging and biopsy results have shown). I plan to start systemic chemotherapy treatment on August 10th with port surgery the day before.  The plan is  20 weeks (5 months) of chemo and about 3 weeks after the last chemo treatment I'll have double mastectomy surgery. I will update journal entries with more details along the way.

Thank you for staying in touch while I traverse these difficult times.

P.S. There will be a lot of boob talk here, pictures of side boob, and pictures of boob with nipple covered. I'm not shy about this at all-- this is cancer and it's serious business.
