Early in the morning hours of Friday, November 30th, Kara woke up to Scott making some strange sounds in his sleep and she soon realized that Scott was unresponsive. Kara called 911 and began CPR. The paramedics and police arrived and had to shock Scott to regulate his heart and then had to intubate him. Scott was taken to a nearby hospital where he was placed in critical condition in Cardiac ICU and put into a medically induced coma. The doctors began a protocol to cool Scott’s body for a prolonged time to help Scott’s brain heal and to prevent any further injury to his brain. It will be a waiting game to know the extent of, if any, injury to the brain. The doctors have been uncertain as to why Scott has gone into a cardiac arrest as all of the tests and labs have come back negative to indicate any concern.
