Scott Pierce Scott's Heart Surgery

Welcome Friends and Family! Beth and I have set up this site to keep you all informed of my status during my upcoming surgery and recovery. For those who are not aware, I was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm way back in 2008 and we have been monitoring it ever since. Over the years, my aorta has now grown to a point where I need open heart surgery to avoid rupture and to replace the section of it that is bad. Depending on what the surgeon finds, I may also need a new aortic valve. Sparing you all the gory details, suffice it to say that this is major surgery and will require a 3-5 day hospital stay and 8 weeks or so of recovery at home.
