We began this journey in August of 2015. Scott was diagnosed with Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Carcinoma with metastases to the liver. His oncologist recommended a "wait and see" approach as this type of cancer is slow growing. For the past 1 1/2 years we've been seeing his oncologist every 3-4 months for repeat labs and scans. His only treatment has been hormone therapy with the goal of slowing the tumor growth or possibly shrinking it. Everything  remained stable until his last appointment in December when the scan showed growth. His oncologist referred us to a surgeon for a consult. We met an awesome surgeon who is willing to perform surgery on Scott. We've scheduled surgery for March 3 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. They will be performing a distal pancreatectomy, splenectomy and extensive liver resection. We decided to set this site up as a way for our family and friends to stay updated on Scott's recovery. We welcome all of your prayers, thoughts and well wishes.
