On December 21, after some testing, Scooter was diagnosed with lung cancer. At this point, the doctors are calling it stage 3, as they saw involvement in at least one lymph node. He will go December 26 for a PET scan and MRI, and his case will be presented among a combined team of pulmonologists and oncologists to determine the best course of action for treatment on December 28.
