Sara was originally diagnosed with breast cancer May 8, 2015 and, with treatment and her fighting spirit, she had been breast cancer free since October of 2015 and we hoped and prayed that would be the end of her cancer story.  This past January, Sara underwent reconstructive surgery on the breast that had been removed and, at that time, all her cancer markers/numbers were within normal range.  On June 17, 2018, Sara went to the ER due to pain she had been having in her stomach for about a month.  After tests and scans, doctors told her once again that she had cancer.  She and Brad followed up a couple days later and it was confirmed that cancer was in her liver, bowel, ovaries, and peritoneum.    A biopsy later that week would confirm that it was breast cancer that had metastasized.  More bad news came when she was told that it had also spread to her spine, pelvis and hips.  Surgery is not an option in Sara's case and there is no cure.  Doctors originally planned an aggressive chemo treatment every three weeks but, as it turns out, her liver is not strong enough so they are doing a lesser dose of chemo every week.  Sara is a fighter and we pray these treatments will shrink the tumors or keep them from growing and spreading.  Please join us in fervent prayer for my dear sister-in-law, her husband Brad, and their precious children:  Deanna, Alycia, Lindsey and Abby.  We don't know what the future holds, but we do know God is in control of all things and we must trust an all-knowing, merciful Lord.  He never fails and he ALWAYS delivers.
