Life throws us all curve balls and this is Sara’s.
She recently went in for a routine eye exam and the doctor noticed she had peripheral vision loss. He proceeded to ask her when she experienced a stroke since this is a typical symptom of a stroke. She had not had one so the doctor decided to order an MRI of her brain. She went in for the MRI on Friday morning. The technician noticed something on the scan and wanted her to stay to talk with an ER doctor. It was explained to her that she has a large mass in her brain. Next thing she knew she was in an ambulance on the way to St. Cloud hospital. She was greeted and admitted quickly. It was a long wait that night but finally spoke with the neurologist on Saturday morning. He showed us all the scans. It appears to be a baseball size brain tumor. We will know more Monday when we hear from the doctor. The plan is to have the surgery within the week.
She is approaching this with dignity, positivity, and humor. She is and has been a strong woman her whole life and will tackle this with the same gusto.
I will use this site to update friends and family on surgery date and any other news.
