Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  Sandy fell in her driveway on December 9 and fractured her pelvis.  Somehow, she managed to talk a passerby into backing out her car and helping her into the driver's seat,  allowing her to make her own way to the emergency room.   After X-rays and a CAT scan, they diagnosed a fractured hip and hip socket, and began preparing for an emergency hip replacement.  Just 24 hours later, the orthopedic surgeon saw the scans and changed the diagnosis to a fractured pelvis, which requires her to be transferred to Orlando.  We will update you all as we have information, but her recovery will take several weeks and months, and we are so grateful for the loving community Sandy has in The Villages and extending around the world.  Thank you for visiting this site and feel free to pass along the link.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
