Sandy Brookshaw Sandy Brookshaw's Journey

First post: Feb 19, 2018
Hello! Thank you for stopping by, I'm grateful you are here. In December of 2017, after biopsying a small lump in my leg that had grown a bit, I was diagnosed with Metastatic Anal Cancer. While not the best news I could have received, my incredible team of doctors are confident that they found it in time. On January 22nd, I began my first of two rounds of a very aggressive Chemo Therapy treatment in conjunction with 3 weeks of highly focused radiation therapy. I am truly thankful for not only the miracle of science and my team behind it but the healthy lifestyle  (even my medical team has applauded my attention to living a healthy lifestyle)  that will undoubtedly help me manage the challenges the side effects of these advanced to therapies bring.

Above all, I grateful for my faith in a loving God and I am so very grateful to have my wonderful family, friends and all of the wonderful support as I go through this journey. Each day is a new day and a positive outlook is the best medicine and I will be sure to update you as we move forward. Thank you for all of your prayers, support, good thoughts and positive energy.

All my love, Sandy
