Diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in January of 2017,  Sam completed the first stage of treatment which included chemotherapy, intrathecal chemotherapy,  and radiation. The next phase aiming to cure the disease was an allogeneic stem cell transplant which involved additional  high dose chemotherapy and radiation followed by the infusion of stem cells from two umbilical cords. Sam was admitted to Prentice at Northwestern Hospital on Wednesday, September 20th, 2018 where he was quarantined for 6 weeks. Sam has truly made strides in the last year and we are so happy to report that he is currently cancer free! I began journaling regularly during the bone marrow transplant and will continue to use this site to post updates as he continues his recovery. Thank you so much for visiting and for your support. We love you all!
