Sally Ellis

On behalf of Mom's/Sally's five children, we welcome you to her CaringBridge site. We hope to keep friends and family as updated as possible with her journey. Whether you are one of her local friends or family members or one of the many relatives or friends miles away, we hope you find this to be a way to stay connected with her.

As most of you know, we did not hear the news that we had hoped for at the end of April.  Despite everything, Mom/Sally has maintained such strength and dignity.  She has also kept her sense of humor and optimism despite some rough spots she has encountered lately. She has an amazing care team of doctors and nurses who are continuing to treat her and keep her comfortable.

Mom's/Sally's five children are determined to provide her with the care and love she deserves.  Our plan is to be here with her in a variety of capacities - attending appointments, caring for her at home, helping in the home, etc. She has loved us unconditionally and has always been there for us over the years.  It is our turn to give back to her. We want to shower her with our love and make sure she feels our warm embrace at all times.

Our dear relatives, the Contois family, had a Caringbridge site for our late Uncle Leo to update friends and loved ones of his journey.  We have so many fond memories of visits with the Contois' over the years. Mom/Sally (and all of us) have always highly regarded Uncle Leo and Aunt Barb. Mom/Sally enjoys her continued phone visits with Aunt Barb and finds a real sense of peace and comfort when talking with her across the miles.  It seems fitting that we honor the memory of Uncle Leo and their daughter, Kathie on Mom's/Sally's site.

We know Mom/Sally is seen by her family and friends as a woman with a generous heart.  She has always taken pride in making sure her visitors feel welcome (and well-fed ) while in her home. Visiting with people, sharing stories, and keeping updated on things happening in her children's, grandchildren's, and other people's lives are some of the things she has always enjoyed. Since her visits with you via phone or in person may be more limited now, please feel free to check this site often and post messages to her. We will be sure to share your messages with Mom/Sally.  We greatly appreciate the outpouring of calls and texts these past few weeks.  Your thoughts and prayers are an added source of strength.

At this point, we are truly taking one day at a time with a focused goal of making sure she knows we are all here with her every step of the way.
