Ruth Needs Your Support!

My wife, Ruth, began having health complications in 2011 when she was diagnosed with stage four renal failure. It was at that time that her doctor discovered the full extent of her condition. Ruth’s kidneys were irreversibly damaged and only functioning at 25%. Since being diagnosed, Ruth has undergone regular monitoring and in December of 2017 she was told she would need a kidney transplant. Ruth’s kidney function is now at less than 20% and she needs your help so that she will be able to receive the lifesaving kidney transplant she so desperately needs. Transplants are lifesaving, but very expensive and Ruth cannot do it alone. We’re asking family and friends to join us in prayer, good wishes, encouragement and yes...financial support.

Ruth is an RN and has been providing loving medical care to others throughout her entire adult life. After many years of helping others, Ruth is now the one who needs our help. She spent a grueling year undergoing evaluation for kidney transplant and was finally accepted into the program.

We were blessed that so many answered the call and volunteered to donate, both of Ruth's daughters, our  son-in-law Kevin, her cousin Erin and I stepped up and both Lydia and Kevin were a match. Both Lydia and Kevin underwent further testing and it was determined that Kevin was the best choice, he was given the go ahead in March of this year (2019).

The transplant is scheduled for June 6, 2019 at Tampa General Hospital (TGH).

Funding this procedure is a monumental task, as there will be many expenses, both  medical and incidental, not covered by Medicare or insurance: co-pays and deductibles, medications (such as anti-rejection medications that she will be required to take for the rest of her life), lab fees and clinic visits are just a few of the expenses that my wife will encounter. The anti-rejection drugs alone are over $5,000 per month! Both Ruth and Kevins travel expenses and the cost of  lodging  are adding up to more than our family can handle alone. We have been blessed by many gifts but the expenses are truly unknown.

As I said at the beginning, we need your support. We need your love, we need encouragement, we need  good wishes, we need financial consideration, but mostly we need your prayers!

Thanks for your love and support. We are very appreciative and humbly grateful for everything.

Blessings,

Chuck Treadway (Ruth’s husband)
