On December 26, 2018 our mother took our dad to the ER for what we thought were stroke symptoms.  A CT Scan  revealed a large brain “lesion”.  After a few hours of research and phone calls, my brother in law was able to get him in with an amazing team of Neuro Surgeons.  We had him transferred by ambulance to UT Southwestern in Dallas that night.
The surgeons performed a craniotomy on December 28th to biopsy the lesion.  Dad recovered like a rock star (but boy did my mom & sister have some funny “ICU” stories to tell) and was able to come home just in time to ring in 2019!
On Tuesday, January 8th we were told he has Glioblastoma, grade 4 (GBM4).  While this was devastating news to all of us, we know we serve a mighty God and He will have dad in His hands throughout this journey.  We are committed to doing everything in our power to help him get through this.  Whatever the outcome, we know God will be glorified!  Dad has an amazing attitude and is ready to fight the good fight!!!!  We would greatly appreciate prayers for our sweet dad/Paw Paw Larry!

(Dr. Welch, my dad’s neuro surgeon, told us we were going to hit the tumor hard with radiation and chemo and “send it on the run”....thus, #RUNCANCERRUN)!
