Rudi went into cardiac arrest on Saturaday. Paramedics were able to get him breathing and out of ventricular fibrillation on the scene.
Rudy was taken to Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL. He was put into a hypothermic state on Saturday evening to allow the swellin in his brain time to coll down and reduce demands on his body. They began letting his tempurature come back up on Sunday night, and began weening off of sedatives.
This afternoon (Monday 5/27), we were blessed with the miracle of Rudi opening his eyes, responding to verbal commands, and even asking questions.
While we are still very unsure of the road ahead, especially waiting on results from an EEG and MRI's, we consider ourselves blessed that Rudi is still with us.
