As many you know, Ron has been having some health issues surrounding his his congestive heart failure. On Dec. 26 his legs had such severe edema that the skin peeled off and the fluid was dripping out. A week later, the wounds had not not healed so he was admitted to Sherman Hospital. Two days later he had emergency umbilical hernia surgery , which was a success. After fourteen days at Sherman he was transferred to Fair Oaks Healthcare Center in Crystal Lake for rehab. He did did quite well with his PT, and was getting around with a walker. His legs were finally healed, but still swollen, and he was still very weak. February 1 he was transferred back to Autumn Leaves memory care facility, where he has been living since last June. Yesterday, February 5, I received a call from Autumn Leaves that he was having trouble breathing and his oxygen levels were low. He was sent to Centegra Hospital in Huntley, IL, for further care. His diagnosis is the flu and pneumonia. He is getting help breathing with a biPAP machine and receiving IV diuretics and antibiotics. It is unknown if his heart will be able to endure this additional strain. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
