Hi to all!  
The story of my cancer journey began with an unusual medical history of lower than normal platelets and white cells.  My routine annual physical in October resulted in a significant drop in those values.  Following more tests, I had a preliminary diagnosis of Beta-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  That brought me to the University of Minnesota Hospitals - Cancer  Center on Friday, October 28th.  After more confirming tests and diagnoses, I started chemotherapy on October 31st.  While 75 years old, I have been in good health and physical condition which may be in my favor.  My treatment schedule for at least the next four to six weeks is chemotherapy once every week during that time.  All that goes with such treatment, in terms of side effects, is being well supported by other medications and the tender, loving care of the UMMC staff and my immediate caregivers.  The Journey continues and I am thankful to family and friends for the cards, prayers and best wishes.  Other than your comments on this Caring Bridge Site, which are and will always be welcomed; you can write me at the following address:  University of Minnesota Medical Center, 7D Medical Oncology, East Bank, 500 Harvard Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455.  Keep me in your prayers as together we trust in God's good grace and healing moving forward on this unusual and different journey for me.  I and the family will keep you up-to-date on changes to this basic beginning story.
