[] In mid December, Ron was having a slight pain in the right side of his neck when he worked out with his personal trainer.  Jason Smith, said personal trainer, encouraged him to have his carotid arteries checked out and scared Ron into following through by creating a vision of a post stroke Ron in a wheelchair.  That got him into the doctor lickety split.  The doctor thought things sounded fine and theorized the slight pain was muscular and nothing to worry about.  But he offered an ultrasound if it would put Ron's worries at ease.  The ultrasound showed his arteries to be 50% blocked but evidently that's not a big deal at our age (they don't start fretting until blockage is 70- 75%)  BUT.... the ultrasound detected a 5 cm mass on the other side of his neck.  The doc was concerned and sent him in immediately for an MRI.  The MRI confirmed the mass and a biopsy followed a few days later.  Last Friday night, his doctor called with the biopsy results.  B Cell Lymphoma - a form of non Hodgkins Lymphoma.  .
