Roger Drudge

On May 11, 2023, Roger was diagnosed with advanced stage IV kidney cancer, metastasized to lymph nodes, liver and lungs. When we realized it would be 4-6 wks until anything much was done for him here in Ontario, we went to Oasis of Hope Hospital, MX. They removed his left kidney, with the tumor contained inside. We have been under their treatment ever since, and returned there in September and December for further treatment. In September we found the lymph nodes and liver were clear of cancer, but found he had some brain tumors, that had been causing his headaches. He had radiation done while there. In December Roger received a booster shot in MX for his dendritic vaccine. This can cause swelling in the tumor sites as the immune system is stimulated to fight the cancer. Within a few weeks, Roger was feeling fatigued and having headaches. He was put on a steroid to keep him comfortable. The end of February Roger was beginning to feel very fatigued and we realized he had symptoms of high blood sugar. He was diagnosed with diabetes, caused by his steroid. This is proving difficult to control, since taking him off the steroid isn't an option. This has been a tough journey for our family, but we have found God is good, over and over again. He has given grace beyond what we can tell. He has answered many, many prayers along the way, and we thank Him and give him all the glory. He is our faithful, Heavenly Father and we have set our hearts to keep trusting Him and loving Him. Thankyou for all the support you have given to us. You have lightened our load many times with your love and care, and we are deeply grateful.
