Riley Mackey was in a very serious motor vehicle accident October 29th, 2016 on his way to football practice. He didn't see the eastbound truck and pulled out in front of them and his truck was T-Boned from the passenger side. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be cut out. He was then airlifted to Avera McKennan Hospital where he was admitted to the ICU and is listed in serious condition.
