My dad was diagnosed with Ampullary cancer in February 2018. He immediately had the whipple surgery at the Mayo Clinic and recovered from that and started chemotherapy. The cancer was aggressive and he switched chemo multiple times when one would stop working. In July 2020, they ran out of options and the cancer was growing quickly. He went to Mayo on September 28th to do some tests and get into a clinical trial. He found out that the trial was not taking applicants any longer but they would keep looking for ones he would be a candidate for. We were officially out of options. He started morphine that week as the pain from the growing tumor on his side and overall cancer growth was becoming intense. His last day of work was also on September 28th in anticipation of starting the study. On Wednesday, September 30th he started hospice and his health has been declining rapidly since. We will use this site to try to keep everyone as up to date as possible. Thank you for all of your support and for caring so much about our dad. We love you!
