Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, words of hope and encouragement and most of all, PRAYER.

How Richard's story begins.

On December 28th, 2017 Richard was leaving his apartment to head to work.  While going down the stairs at his apartment complex he fell and at that time hit his head on the steps.  There appeared to be no outside injury other than soreness and bruising.  Richard went to work and continued on doing what he does best, helping people.  On December 31st while watching football he deteriorated enough to where his friend Ed called the ambulance.

Richard was transported to Peace Health St. Joseph's Hospital and during the assessment he was found to have a serious brain bleed that required immediate surgery to stop the bleeding.  The bleeding was stopped and Richard was recovering in the ICU.  Initial reports were promising.  That was before we knew the full extent of his injury and the damage that was done.

Richard is still in the hospital but will be transported to Whatcom Hospice House today, January 13th, 2018.  We want him to be comfortable during this time while being supported and surrounded by friends and family.

We know that GOD has a plan for Richard and we are trusting him with every step of this process.
