Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.   ALL prayers are greatly appreciated. Thank you for visiting.

Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in the fall of 2011. She had 2 very large masses removed and a 2 week stay at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Tests showed the cancer had reached her lymph nodes. Stage 4 is the category once it gets into the blood stream. Since then she has been on and off chemotherapy, multiple surgeries to remove masses that keep popping up and a stint of radiation.  To sum everything up that has gone on these past  5 years would be impossible. We've had some highs and lows. I'm so thankful momma has been here to make so many more memories these past 5 years and I pray for many more year of memories with her.  Here is a link to the page I'd created back then for the beginnings of this cancer fight.  http://www.carepages.com/carepages/GrammaRemy

November 9, 2016 she underwent another surgery to remove a mass from her bladder area. She has been home recovering since. November 20th she went to the ER. She was throwing up and having so much nausea. They ran some tests and did a CT Scan. The scan showed a blockage preventing her kidneys from draining properly. They scheduled same day surgery to insert some stints. While performing the surgery they found that the blockage is another mass (tumor). They scraped some of the mass and it will be sent to pathology. We will know more within a week if the mass is cancer or if it's benign. After this last surgery her cancer level went from a 20 an 8. We are staying hopeful it is benign. We will know more on the next steps once the pathology report comes in. I'll update as we find things out.

One thing I know is our momma has a smile that lights up the room. Her heart is so giving and full of love.  She gives without expecting anything in return. She is our hero, our SUPERGIRLLLL!

We need to put our fears and worries into God's hands. He will take care of her. He will provide strength. He will give us comfort. Please lift her up in prayer.

With Love,

Dawn & Erika
