Pete was in severe pain on Thursday, July 30th. With him not being able to tell us where the pain was coming from we took him to emergency in Cavalier. They did a few tests on him and his X-ray showed an enlarged and obstructed bowel. They said he needed surgery immediately. They put him in an ambulance along with my Dad and rushed him to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. The surgeon and anesthesiologist met them upon arrival at around 3:30am. The surgeon was a great surgeon with no bedside manners. He told my Dad, “Pete needs surgery now or he will die”. So they took him right in and Pete was out of surgery around 6:30am. This was only the beginning of his journey.
