Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. If you have come to this site, you no doubt have a loving, caring curiosity about the state of our parents, Peter and Diane Welvang. As most of you know, our parents have been somewhat set back by their current afflictions rather abruptly for everyone close to the family. We are currently trying to respect their wishes, which are to remain at home, near family as long as possible. Thus far we have been able to maintain a schedule amongst siblings and exceptional caregivers to accommodate our parent's needs as they currently remain at home. For those of you who are not aware of our parent's condition, our mother has recently been diagnosed with ALS which has taken away her ability to communicate with everyone precious to her. She deals with many other struggles as well, not worth getting into but know our mother has dealt with each challenge with dignity, strength and grace. As for our father, he suffers from Parkinson's and dementia. For the most part he maintains a positive attitude about growing old and is our mother's biggest supporter. Despite our father's physical and mental issues he faces daily, he is a constant inspiration and reminder of what family is all about.
If you have any words of inspiration, comments or questions, please share! We are eager to let our parent's community have a chance to communicate their thoughts and wishes as we realize how important you all are to our parents. Thank you for visiting .
