Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Paul was diagnosed with a brain tumor one week before Christmas 2016 in Durango, CO. He was transported by air to St. Anthony's Brain Trauma Center in Denver, where biopsies were performed and a shunt was installed in order to relieve the pressure from build up of fluid around the brain. We received the results from the biopsies approximately one week later. The clinical term for Paul's tumor is glioblastoma, which in Paul's case is also inoperable according to every expert in the field we have consulted with. After three weeks of receiving care and rehabilitation, Paul was released to come back home in Durango. Since returning, Paul continues his rehabilitation almost daily. After collaboration among the Dr.'s here in Durango and another expert in Denver, we were recently given a treatment strategy, which began February 6th . Aside from cognitive challenges, Paul has not experienced any significant health side effects from the tumor, Praise the Lord! He still looks and acts like the Paul most of us know and love. Please see the journal timeline for updates and changes on Paul's journey as we are using this site as the primary resource for keeping family and friends updated with Paul's progress. We so appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. We thank all of you for the many prayers, cards, letters, and positive thoughts. Please feel free to share this page. Lord bless!
