Patti beat kidney cancer in 2008 and celebrated 10 years cancer free in March of 2018.   In the Fall of 2018, she started to feel more and more sick and lost a lot of weight.  Before Thanksgiving she spent a week in the hospital due to a recurrence of a heart condition she has lived with for years called atrial fibrillation.  After spending a great Thanksgiving with family and friends she began to feel ill and experienced double vision.  She was admitted to the hospital after a brain MRI showed she had suffered a few small strokes.  After many, many tests over a 13 day hospital stay it was determined that cancer had occurred again in the form of non small cell lung cancer. 

On 12/24/2018 the family met with the oncologist to learn that the lung cancer was stage IV (lung spread to the liver and pelvic bone) and would be treated with chemo starting on 1/9/2019.  We pray that the Immunotherapy plan brings a respite from the pain and promotes healing.
