Welcome to my CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.   In August, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I know- I can't believe it either.   Fortunately, it is a very treatable kind and is at stage 2 in my left breast.  I was originally planning on having a lumpectomy which would include radiation a month after the surgery.  However, I recently got a result from an MRI which showed what is called enhancements coming from the tumor.  Long story short, I have decided to go forward with a mastectomy instead.  

As you can imagine, the timing of this has been pretty distressing, but I've been getting through it with the help of family and friends.  The kids are handling it well, but please note that Nikki would appreciate it if this stays among the adults.  She would prefer that her friends not know about it.  


We will let you know as soon as the surgery is scheduled and we have more details.  My mother will also be contributing to the journal entries when I am unable to do them.   We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
