Owen Austin Klemme is a tender three-year-old who is battling stage 4 neuroblastoma. He was diagnosed early February 2018 after visits to a pediatrician and a rheumatologist that didn't indicate there was a life-threatening issue. Owen's symptoms closely mirrored the symptoms his brother, Henry, had experienced at the same age. Henry was eventually diagnosed with a rare, but easily curable health issue. When Owen started showing similar symptoms of fevers and joint pain, we started the process of documenting and diagnosing. After 4 months of worsening symptoms, however, we requested expedited bloodwork. Upon reviewing the results, the physician sent Owen to the ER for immediate attention. The devastating diagnosis was a tumor in Owen's left adrenal gland that had spread to his liver, lymph nodes, bones and bone marrow. Through bravery and faith, we support him as he fights for his life and we thank him for allowing us to serve him and each other in an effort to demonstrate Christ-like love.
