Oaklynn Ann Notch!

Friday, March 5th was the day little feisty miss Oaklynn Ann decided to make her appearance. Since I had Brantley early at 34 weeks, this pregnancy was at a greater risk to be preterm, as well. We thought we were taking all precautions and everything was looking great. About a month ago I kept having contractions while on my feet, but they would immediately stop as soon as I sat down. I went in multiple times because of this, and even had a short hospital stay in St. Cloud. They ran many tests and ultrasounds and they kept reassuring me that everything was looking great. I just may be someone who has contractions during pregnancy. Fast forward to Friday morning, I was miserable. I had a couple contractions during the night, even when laying down. I called the clinic to come in, again. I thought they were just going to check me again and say, nope your fine, go home. Instead, my water broke as she checked me and everyone began to panic. Lifelink was called, then cancelled, they didn't think they had enough time to get me anywhere. Thankfully they were able to slow down the contractions and Lifelink was called back and transferred me to Abbott in Minneapolis. That is where Oaklynn was born at 4:38 pm. Cody made it with 10 minutes to spare, but he made it!! At birth, she weighed 2 lbs and was 14 inches long. She came face first and was pretty bruised and swollen. Ever since her strength and feistiness has amazed everyone! She is so strong and is fighting hard!

Everyone has been wondering what they can do to help. Our biggest struggle right now is that with everything going on, I will not be going back to the classroom until next fall, meaning I will have a loss of wages. With that, the Ronald McDonald house is open, but not to people who need to travel back and forth. With Brantley at home, I just can't be away for a week at a time. Luckily there is a couch in Oaklynn's room and I am able to sleep there.

We have already received so much love and support! We are speechless at the lengths community members, friends, family and co-workers are going to help support our family. We can't thank you enough! I get emotional just thinking about it! Everyone's prayers are working as Oaklynn continues to amaze us, please keep them coming!

We are truly blessed!
