**I will be having open heart surgery on July 6, 2017**
Welcome to my CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. :)
I was born with a complex congenital heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia. This means my heart did not form a tricuspid valve, and because of that, my right ventricle didn't form either. When I was a child I had 3 procedures, including an open heart surgery, to make it so that my heart could function with only one "pump" (the left ventricle). This surgery was called a Fontan procedure. For about 28 years the Fontan has worked great for me. However, my original Fontan is now failing and I now need an open heart surgery called a Fontan revision.
