Pickle was doing what she does best, helping others. She was at a friends house located just outside of Dalton when she decided to help her friend cut down a branch. She was up on a ladder and got onto a branch and fell about 12 ft from the tree after cutting her leg with the chainsaw . Her friend took action right a away. Nici was cut from the chainsaw from her inner thigh down to her knee. Her friend took towels and kept the bleeding down as much as she could till paramedics got there. Nici was transported to Fergus Falls hospital and then was transported to Fargo .... She had her first surgery on her leg to repair the femoral vein in her leg...they were able to repair that to stop bleeding. She then had testing done to see if there was anything else wrong... thats when they found her L1 vertebrae was shattered ... she was then taken back into surgery early afternoon on June 17th. That surgery took about 4 hours and went very well considering the injury . She went into surgery on June 18th around 10:00 for another surgery on her leg . There will be multiple surgeries done on her leg...its unknown how many. Please keep the family, kids, fiancee Norbert and friends in your thoughts and prayers. We will keep everyone updated as much as we can, there is many unknown answers to many questions , but now we take it a day at a time. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!!! We know she is a tough gal and she will pull though!!!
