Hello friends,
We sincerely thank you for taking the time to read Nicole's story, and share in her fight to BEAT her recent diagnosis of Adenocarcinoma Cervical Cancer. As most of you know, Nicole Gaunce is a young mother of two beautiful 5 year-old twin daughters, Kylee and Kynlee. Nicole and her beloved mother, Gretchen, live together and have been raising these girls together as a family since they were born. For those of you that know Nicole and Gretchen, you also know they have a mother/daughter relationship and bond that is unparalleled to most that you've ever seen. TOGETHER, with her mother, daughters, family and friends, we are confident and have faith that Nicole WILL BEAT this cancer!
Gretchen and Nicole have always managed on their own, provided for themselves and the twins and have never had to ask for outside assistance. Unfortunately, this is bigger than them though. Nicole will have to receive a radical surgery to remove the cancer, and will be unable to work for a minimum of 8 weeks. The details of her post-operative plan are still unknown. By the grace of God, her Mama and many Doctors and hospital administration that fought on her behalf, Nicole's surgery is scheduled for this Friday, 4/3. Please say a prayer for a successful surgery for all!
Gretchen is a RN and has worked for the same hospital system for 35 years. Unfortunately, the DSU area where she has worked for all of these years has closed because the elective surgical cases have been placed on hold due to COVID-19. This has in turn left Gretchen with less hours at work, and no guarantee of receiving her normal pay.
Sadly, both Gretchen and Nicole's income has been significantly affected at a crucial time in their lives, and they will have significant medical expenses for Nicole. This is why I felt compelled to create this page to ask their friends and family for support.
We are well aware that the world crisis that we are all experiencing with COVID-19 is affecting many financially, as well as mentally, and causing financial hardships for countless families out there. We completely understand that while some would love to help this sweet family, they simply will not have the means to do so. However, if you are in a position to help support Nicole and Gretchen during this difficult time, I can't tell you how much it would mean to them. Anything would be appreciated to help get Nicole through this surgery and closer to her journey of healing.
