Lorraine Teeter My Cadillac Surgery

First post: Jan 16, 2019 Latest post: Jan 14, 2020
I'm creating this page to share my story and my journey through this process. I've called it a Cadillac Surgery because that's how my doctor described what I will be needing. I need to have several surgeries and possible braces to correct multiple issues. Due to autoimmune arthritis, I have joint erosion in the temporomandibular joints (TMJ). As a result I need a total joint replacement. To add to that, I need to have jaw advancement surgery to correct my jaw that never grew correctly, it basically grew in and not out. That is why I have the "hook" like thingy where my jaw starts. Because of that I need to have my upper and lower jaws advanced. Due to my small jaw that never grew correctly, I've had sleep apnea since I was very young. Being that my jaw line is too small, my air way is small which is what causes me to stop breathing when I sleep. I'll be updating this in hopes to keep family and friends in the loop of whats going on. I am also hoping that this will provide awareness and support for anyone who might be going through the same thing.
