Welcome to the CaringBridge website that Greg and I have created for ourselves on our parents' behalf, to help us keep abreast of their needs and coordinate supports for them.  Our candor, even about private issues,  is intended in their interests. We appreciate whatever you share in that spirit and trust that everyone involved will honor the sensitivity of this information.
Our synopsis: Mom and Dad are 84 and 86 respectively and have a long history of differences and communication problems that are now exacerbated by age, narrowed social networks, and increased needs. Though they live independently with our brother's help, many needs are not met and the relationships are not kind and harmonious. Dad has been diagnosed with vascular dementia and ambulatory problems; mom with persistent neurological and gastrointestinal issues. Some manifestations of these problems include poor driving, bad judgement (hiring strangers for home repairs), disorganization (taxes and finance), over-acquiring (mom) balance and falls and social isolation (dad).  That said, they are attentive to the beauty of each day, our work and travels, sports, politics, and current events. A number of people currently help them out or have offered to do so. It is our hope that this page will help us to compare notes on needs and resources and organize services to work in unison.
Thank you,
Kim and Greg
