Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Our son Morgan was involved in an accident this past Sunday between Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama. It was a single car accident with no other passengers. He is in the SICU unit at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama.  Morgan had back surgery late Monday afternoon.  Due to the nature of  his injury and his surgery, he has been kept under heavy sedation to limit his movement.  Thus far, other than the back injury, MRI and CAT scans have shown no other injuries except for a cracked rib.  Shannon and I have been by his side until yesterday, when I came home to take care of personal matters. Shannon will stay with him until he is ready to come home, and I will be going back and forth as much as possible.  Morgan will remain at the Huntsville Hospital during this healing phase.  While in the SICU unit, visitation is basically limited to Shannon and myself.  We will let you know when this changes.

We thank you for all your phone calls and texts!  Please keep sending them because it gives us encouragement and strength knowing so many people care about Morgan and our family.  Shannon or I may not be able to respond to every call or text (even though we would like to!), but we plan to use this Caring Bridge to update you on his progress.  I (Marc) plan to update his progress in the evening whenever possible.  If you wish, sign up for automatic updates on Morgan on this website; you will then be alerted each time we add a progress update.

What we need most of all right now is your prayers--prayers for Morgan's healing, prayers that he can resist any complications following his surgery, and prayers for strength of body and mind as we Go through this phase.

Shannon and I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of concern, love, and support we have received from our family and friends. We are so grateful to each and every one of you. Such love and friendship and caring is never more evident than now.  Thank you all so very, very much.

With heartfelt gratitude and love,

Marc and Shannon
