No right or wrong way to go about this I suppose, so I'll write to you with sincerity and hope. Toughest of times for my family and we are reaching out for help, encouragement, and support.
A little over a month ago while on a work trip in Spain, my husband Marc was hospitalized for what turns out to be a life threatening medical condition.
Doctors found a tumor in the occipital region of his brain and Marc underwent emergency surgery to have the tumor removed. He is recovering now from surgery but unfortunately the doctors weren't able to take the whole thing out. The doctors who have been working with Marc advise chemo and radio therapy to treat what remains.
The boys and I flew to Spain and with the help of my mom and Marc's family in Barcelona were able to stand by his side through this first challenge. Now we are weighing our options and beginning to take steps necessary to return to LA for his treatment and recovery. If all pans out, we will be home next week.
This obviously has been hard beyond words, not just for Marc but for everyone who loves and values him. I stand at the heart of this with our two boys Ari and Felix reminding me every single second that despite such darkness, the world is still a beautiful place. Forever and ever I'll be indebted to them for this.
As things progress, I will have more clarity as to what exactly we will need in terms of help. So far what has helped Marc the most is being reminded that he is loved around the globe by our big, compassionate, intelligent, beautifully wacky and weird network of friends whom despite the distance, have kept us company day after day in our hearts and minds.
Once plans get a bit more certain, I'll update this page again and let all of you know how else to show your support for our family.
