On September 4, 2019, Molly was diagnosed with stage 2-4 Intrahepatic Bile Duct Cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma). In mid-August after having severe, sharp pains along with other symptoms she believed were related to her Celiac Disease, Molly sought medical attention and tests revealed liver concerns. While the cancer originated in the bile duct, it has moved to her liver. At this time, surgery is not a treatment option. Molly will begin chemotherapy on Thursday September 12, 2019, and scans will be updated in approximately 9 weeks to determine next treatment step(s). Molly's providers are also considering any and all appropriate clinical trials as she is relatively young for this type of cancer (49 years old) and is otherwise strong and healthy. Molly, Nick and Fiona (10y) along with their family and close friends, appreciate you keeping them in your thoughts and prayers. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
