During the last weeks of January 2016 I came down with my annual winter cold. It began with sniffles and a watery left eye,  it then went into my right eye. My throat began to have a tickle (another medical term) and I began to notice some chest congestion and an ache in my back. After a week of the back ache remaining I went to see my doctor about possible pneumonia. This was February 4, a Thursday. He decided to take an x-ray and within minutes he had it back to show me on the computer int he exam room, Amazing technology. It looked pretty clear and he said the same but then added that he was sending it on to a radiologist for a closer examination. The radiologist saw something that concerned him and had my doctor set up a CT Scan for the next Monday at 7am. The results showed cancer in the lungs, spinal column and abdomen. A PET scan was then scheduled for the Thursday after Ash Wednesday which confirmed the CT findings. My journey had begun.
