Mike is 54 years old and was diagnosed 5 years ago with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). PKD is an inherited disease which we are unable to determine how inherited because both of his parents are deceased. Mike is in end-stage kidney failure and is in need of a kidney transplant. He is O+ and would need a donor that has either O+ or O- blood type. Mike is in the process of the testing and soon will be on the recipient list at ECMC. Not many know this but one could wait for a kidney as long as 5-7 years on list. We are praying for a live donor that will match so that he doesn't have to wait that long.
