Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. Our mother had an ablation done on Friday, the 29th, to correct A-flutter and A-fib. Beth, their retired nurse friend, was at the hospital waiting when they got there. This was done in Tuscan Medical Center, west of Wilcox, AZ.
The Dr came out n said the surgery went well and was successful; that her heart was in ryrhim. But she wasn't coming to her room, so Daddy went to ask where she was. Her B/P was too low and they were giving IV fluid. She still wasn't coming, so they went to check again. This time the Dr came back with the nurse, and said that Mama's B/P was still low, and there was bleeding around the heart too. He sent her to ICU.

Friday night: Beth's update at 1 AM was that she is doing better; her color is better! They were going to free her leg r whatever so she could move n not have to be flat on her back. Her blood work came back good! They were going to re-do her blood work in the morning.
But with the morning came bad news. "She's still in a fib, the procedure didn't help at all. And Beth says she doesn't look good & if we want to see her alive we need to get down there ASAP. Beth is a hospice nurse & I believe she knows." What a shock... We have been assured over n over that she is in good hands~ wonderful hospital staff!!!

Sat Noon. With the Dopamine she is actually stabilized for right now. Ate a little breakfast. God only knows which way it will go!
Sat 2pm: Mama just txt me!!!
"Thanx. I'm a little better! Thankful for all th prayers!"
We realize it might be just temporary "better". Cynthia Jantz got there n helped Mama with her phone; she was tiring fast. She was so excited to get company, they had to ask her to rest... Bless her heart....
Sat evening Daddy is glad that several of we girls are coming in...
Sat 10pm. Cynthia: "I'm just going to stay. Willard said she'd like it if I'd stay. And we all will sleep better knowing she isn't alone.
Blood pressures steady. Just trying to rest. She's worn out and weak. Don't think they'll have to move her out of icu tonight."
Linda and Patsy arrived about 5am; Mama was sleeping quietly.
7:44am. Patsy: Mama is doing quite good😊
9:20am The dr/nurse practicioner was in, ordered blood, which no one likes. So she is going to stay in ICU after all.
1:30pm. her a-fib is better but there's still some a flutter. She was doing really good, but is weeker now, and getting nauseous, she was yesterday. Getting blood doesn't help either.
