If you’re interested in getting updates on Mel’s surgery this week, you’re in the right place!

Mel will have Microvascular Decompression surgery on his brain stem at 7:15am on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.   We would greatly appreciate  your prayers as our hope is that there is no nerve damage and that the Mel will make a complete recovery!

We will post updates of his surgery and post-operative progress this week to keep you informed.  We appreciate you all so much!  Mel & Tam.

(Please DO NOT leave any donations for us on this site. Our reason for this blog is simply to communicate updates!)

History: Mel started having a twitch in his left eye about a year ago.  We saw a neurologist who said it would go away in a few months. It didn’t.  An MRI this year revealed a severe compression of the vertibral artery and the 7th and 8th nerves , which control facial movement and hearing. Thankfully the twitches gave us a sign that there was a problem and that Mel needed surgery or this compression would have led to permanent hearing and vocal damage within 6 months. Dr. Linskey will be the neurosurgeon performing the operation. We pray God will give him wisdom and guide his hands perfectly!
