Dear family and friends,
Thank you for visiting our CaringBridge website. Here you'll find current info on how Matt is doing, his treatments and ways you can help. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

Matt's intro to cancer began with breaking his ribs while iceskating. The chest x-ray showed a mass on his lungs. On February 27, 2017, he was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. Then, thanks to long-time family friend Greg Gombar, we were connected to a lung specialist in Charlotte. After more testing, he determined  Matt had been misdiagnosed and actually has Thyroid Cancer. We are so grateful to Greg and Dr. Kim for getting Matt on the path to the correct treatment! Matt began his new treatment March 23rd.

As you find a joke, funny photo, gif, or meme, etc. (something positive), please send it to Matt on your birthday. That way he will get a little pick-me-up throughout the year and know you are thinking of him. For other ways to help, click on the link below.

The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelmingly wonderful. We really can't thank you enough.  We love you and feel so grateful to have you in our lives!!!

XOXO,
Gina
