Matt began to be aware of some digestive changes several years ago. He believed some of it was due to stress as well as what he used to fuel his body. He changed his diet, lost some weight (though wasn't particularly heavy at his heaviest), and focused on his health. More recently, his digestive issues worsened. He decided to pursue medical aid. When his pain began to drop him to the ground, he went to the ER. From CT scan to colonoscopy, MRI, and other tests, Matt was initially diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. After a colostomy, some nodules were found under the diaphragm changing the diagnosis to stage IV colorectal cancer. Something else we have learned is that the specific type of cancer is rare. We are using this site to keep family and friends informed of what is happening in Matt's treatment as well as continued diagnosis.
