Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Matt walks into a room and everyone lights up, he's funny with the best dad jokes and one liners. He has a heart of gold, and is loved by so many family,  friends and neighbors. I can't say enough good things about my brother and also we can't say thank you enough for all those who have reached out and have asked if there's anything they can do. He really does have an amazing circle of people around him.

Matt tested positive for Covid on Sept 13th, then Wednesday Sept 22nd his daughter drove him to the ER, he was very sick and we sent to Abbott and we thought he was going to be admitted for about 5 days. He was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs, after being treated for a few days he was sent home Friday, Sept 24th with home care and thought he would be on oxygen for a week or two. Then on early Sunday, Oct 3rd he asked to be brought back to the ER and by that evening he was admitted to Abbott.  He seemed to be doing a bit better,  put back on antibiotics,  was scanned for clots and had none.  His Doctor told him he was going to be kept on steroids longer than the first time.  On Wednesday, October 6th his oxygen fell dangerously low and went to the ICU, he was put in a medical coma and placed on a ventilator. Saturday, October 9th,  he was placed on an ECMO, because of low oxygen and moved to the Heart Hospital ICU. This is where we are now...
