Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Today Doug was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer which means it has spread to other organs. There is some encouragement in the midst of this: Doctor said "good news is there is not a lot of disease, the look ahead is optimistic" and other good news is that treatment begins this Thursday. He will receive chemo via IV this week. Monday he will have a port inserted in his chest for subsequent treatments. The goal is to shrink the cancer everywhere.
At this point our request is simply for spiritual support- prayers for healing, strength and grace for the journey. In the weeks ahead, when Samantha returns to work and school, we will need help with transportation until she is driving. Thank you for your prayers. God bless you for your kindness!
