Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
As many of you know, during Labor Day weekend of 2016, our mom wasn't feeling well and we ended up taking her into the ER in Park Rapids.   It was there we were informed that the breast cancer she had battled previously had come back with a vengeance and was all over in her bones.  Over the past almost 3 years she has been on a few different treatments.  For almost 2 years, she did very well.  Living a mostly normal life!  Most recently she was started on IV chemo and radiation, which was her last treatment option.  And during this past winter, she had surgery to place a few rods in her femur and hip due to a bone fracture.  Especially since that surgery, she hasn't felt very well.  A lot of pain, daytime fatigue, and confusion from so many pain medications.  On May 5,  just a few days after her 69th birthday (which we haven't been able to celebrate yet), she was taken to the Montevideo hospital for being so sick and in so much pain.  She was found to have another fracture in her hip.  The doctors decided the current treatment was not working.  It has been decided to stop treatment, not do surgery, and start on hospice.  HOSPICE!  That word is like a punch to the gut that cannot even be described.  But her doctor so kindly explained that this didn't necessarily mean she was dying in less than 6 months and that many people feel so much better and do so much better while on hospice that they get kicked out after 6 months.  She is happy to take their services, if only just for help with pain control.  She is not giving up yet!  We can't talk about her journey without talking about Faith!  Her faith in God and the faith of her support system is strong and her faith throughout these last few years has been incredible! We believe in miracles!  We have seen so many little miracles come about from prayer and we are so very thankful for that!  So we laugh, we cry, and we PRAY!  We are so blessed at the outpouring of support we have already been getting from friends and family these last few days.  We definitely couldn't get through this without all of you!  She is the center of our family and we love her so much!  The best mom and grandma anyone could ever ask for! Right now, she is back home and doing better.  Pain control is better, her mind is clear, and she is awake during the day and sleeping well the past few nights.  How can you help?  Please pray for her!  Pray for no pain, no nausea, energy, restorative nights, and healing.  Please join us in this prayer that we love for her so much:

Father, I thank you for Your Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His life on the cross.  Lord, I thank You that You shed every drop of blood in order that the world might be saved, healed, and delivered!

I thank You that You suffered Mary's cancer, her bone fracture, her pain and suffering when You hung on the cross so Mary wouldn’t have to suffer it.

I bind and break the power of the curse of death that came to all of us through Adam.  I bind and break the power of the spirit of infirmity, the ruler spirit over all infirmities, and I command it to leave Mary’s body now in Jesus’ name!

I bind and break the power of cancer, bone fractures, pain, nausea, daytime fatigue, insomnia, and confusion.  I speak death to them from the root out and command them to leave her body now in the name of Jesus Christ.

I apply the shed and resurrected blood of Jesus Christ to Mary’s entire body and say, “Body, be healed in the name of Jesus!  Bones, be healed in Mary, in Jesus Christ’s name!"

Last, but not least, the grace that is sufficient, the grace Jesus poured out on Calvary when He declared, “It is finished!”  That’s the grace I apply to Mary’s body, in Jesus’ name.

Father, we receive it by faith and thank You for it right now.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen and Amen!
