Welcome to Mary K's walk of faith.  We are the luckiest daughters in the world to have a momma like ours and are privileged to be able to take you all on her journey on Caring Bridge.  We are starting this page because she has had such an influence in so many of your lives and we want to be able to share with you all that God is doing as she walks from earth into eternity.   She wants to be able to keep connected with you and in true to form wants to know how YOU are doing.

Mom's journey started with a diagnosis of a  rare form of Eccrine cancer called Spiradenocarcinoma in February of 2105.  It started as a benign tumor that many call a bible cyst located on her right hand between her thumb and index finger.  After beating her with a bible didn't work,  we found some amazing Doctors at UNMC to do the job a little more efficiently.  Apparently, that little monster began spinning off cancerous cells that surrounded the tumor and had spread to her lymph nodes in her right arm.   In August of 2016 after the last of six different surgeries,  the cancer that had spread to her lungs was inoperable.  They closed our poor human pin cushion up for other treatment options to follow.  Over this last almost year, came several chemo treatments and finally radiation.  The last medical option has shown to not be effective, and again, those little boogers have decided that they are going to take her worn out body.  The Doctors told us she should probably prepare for hospice, and only like  mom can do, paused and said...."FIDDLESTICKS"!!!! She has been a trooper.  I know that surprises all of  you.  :)  She has the best attitude: " Either way I win.  If I stay, I get more time with you all, if I go, I get HEAVEN!"
This week (June 14th) after a Doctor visit, we found out that the cancer has spread to most of her major organs and now the majority of the cancer lies in her bones.  We all know that when she does something, she does it fully!  We are deciding as a family what is the best course of action to take at this point.  Prayers asking for wisdom on whether she attempts one last treatment with Immuno-therapy.  She will be finishing up radiation over the next two weeks to give her some quality of life with some tumors that are pressing on some uncomfortable places.

While this seems like such sad news, we all know that with her faith firmly rooted in our Lord Jesus Christ, her forever home is waiting for her.  She cherishes everyone of you reading this and  would LOVE to hear from you!  Please feel free to contact us through this page and we can make arrangements for contact with her.  She sends all of her love!  Love you all--  The crazy bossy sisters :)
