Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As many of you know I was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2016. When I was diagnosed it had already spread to my liver and I knew the treatments would just prolong my life and unless I had an accident I would die from this. I received many rounds of chemo therapy last year and the cancer went into remission. I am thankful for the time I got to be with my children and grandchild. I went out west to visit them and places I had not seen for many years. We also go to visit Bermuda one of my favorite places.

Unfortunately, the cancer started growing again this past winter and the chemo was no longer working. I went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester on May 11 to get a 2nd opinion. I am starting a clinical trial this week for an oral chemo therapy. It is designed for many types of advance cancers that are not responding to treatment. The drug has been used intravenously in the past and this is a new oral medication. The trial will determine if it is effective and what the side effects are. They may need adjust dosage as we progress with this.

I will need to stay in Rochester for four days after the initial does for follow up blood test. Luckily I was approved for a room at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. I will also need to return to May for weekly blood test. I have lots of people who have volunteered to help drive me up and to stay with me for the first two long weeks.

I will keep you posted on this site about how treatment is going.

Please continue to pray for me.
